A production leader in a 500,000 sq ft packaging facility approached LP with the need to create a safety guarding fence with multiple protected entrances for a legacy conveyor-mounted box folding machine. The machine did not have any guarding protection, and its operation posed a considerable risk to worker safety. LP purchased an industry-standard fencing system and modified it for the specific application, outfitting it with custom fabricated components, safety devices, and a safety control system. LP delivered and installed the safety fencing system at the client's warehouse in less than one day, reducing machine downtime and impact on throughput. In addition, LP designed additional components at the request of the client to prevent accidental safety door closure and to upgrade other machines in the warehouse to increase operator safety and ease of use.
