LP was referred to a client to build a guarding system with integrated safety controls for a 6-ton benchtop pneumatic press in their workspace to prevent hazards caused by inadvertent and improper use. LP employed 3D modeling to create a custom-fit guarding design, using stock components when possible to eliminate the need for complex manufacturing. LP created a robust, Category 3 architecture safety control system design while ensuring operator ease of use by incorporating application-specific safety devices and intelligent circuits. LP will be traveling to the customer location to install this system hand-in-hand with our client to ensure successful operation. This prototype build is the first of 35 machines to be guarded in this customer’s space.
